WEEKEND WORKSHOPS
Following is a list of the weekend workshops that we are looking forward to holding during Term Two at BSA.
BSA Workshops are usually held over one weekend, from 10am to 4pm. Workshops allow for intensive focus on a diverse range of visual arts subjects and mediums, with experienced teachers who are nationally-recognised practicing artists.
Some of the workshops we list are particularly unique opportunities to engage with national and international artists who are visiting the area and offering cultural engagement with our community.

GLENN BARKLEY | IMPRESSION SESSION - HANDBUILDING AND STAMP MAKING
Join Glenn for a two-day workshop exploring the relationship between found objects and ceramic form through sprig and press moulding techniques. On day one, students create negative moulds by pressing textured objects—such as seeds, shells, fabric, and jewellery—into clay, leaving them to dry overnight. On the second day, students build vessels using slab and coil handbuilding techniques before casting fresh clay sprigs from their moulds and applying them to their vessels. MORE INFO

SABINE PICK | CONTEMPORARY CALLIGRAPHY
Join Sabine for a hands-on exploration of contemporary calligraphy, blending traditional techniques with creative experimentation. Learn the fundamentals of letterforms, experiment with pointed pens, vintage nibs and a range of inks, and develop your own unique alphabet in a playful, supportive environment. MORE INFO

SABINE PICK | EXPANDED CALLIGRAPHY
Explore markmaking in new and experimental ways with Sabine. Deconstruct and reimagine letterforms and patterns, experiment with a range of tools, and discover the distinctive marks of a handmade cola pen. Students can also create a simple folded artist book—a tactile format for collecting and combining your letterforms, patterns, and marks. MORE INFO
