This six-week handbuilding foundations course with Issy Parker introduces the fundamentals of working with clay. Students will build confidence with the material while developing an understanding of form, surface and scale.

Through demonstrations and guided exercises, students will be introduced to pinch, coil and slab construction, joining techniques, carving and mark-making. The course will encourage experimentation with scale and surface, exploring how simple gestures, textures and patterns can bring character and expression to the work.

No prior ceramics experience necessary.

Materials provided with the option to source individually throughout the course. There will be a base materials fee of $50 per student, and a firing fee of $15/kg post firing.
